Timezone's complete
04/12/2009 - 14:08Timezone's will now have an active affect on your posts when you make them. As said before, you can set your timezone in the Control Panel. Now when someone is viewing your post, the time next to it will be the time that you posted it in your local zone, not the servers! Unfortunatly, due to the way I coded this to start, doing this wasn't as easy as i thought it would be, but it works, and I'm happy with it. the next step is getting either the Arhive feature working. Then I'll start work on making a Release Client for download, as you can see the link has already appeared in the navigation bar.

Preferences update
27/11/2009 - 13:40I've updated the UCP now so that your preferences can be set for your Timezone, DST and preview option. Please note the only option that will actually take affect is the preview option. The other settings will save, but won't be reflected on the site yet.

Page Updates
06/11/2009 - 14:03I've rearranged the Control Panel Pages so that they are no longer all in one large file, it's so much nicer to look at from a coding point of view, as there aren't 800 lines in one php file. Plus it means that when I do release this people won't cringe when then try and work out where all the bits are if they want to make updates or mods to it or something.
Next step is finishing off the user preferences.

User Preferences
30/10/2009I'm now working on doing the user preferences tab. Firstly I'll be working on time zones and stuff. Then I'll start on doing archives. I might then look at going customable themes, but I think I'll start on making the whole thing more... coder friendly, so making the actual CP into more than one page, like it currently is (you have no idea how ugly it is to work with at the moment). That'll be a a huge overhaul though, and obviously the only thing you'll notice is the url's you're using will change.
Hopefully then I can make a Release client for people to use on they're own websites!!! We'll soon see! ^_^

Upcoming updates
23/10/2009I'm planning on working on a time zone option next. This'll take a fair amount of work. Especially as the script currently only stores the date a post is made, not the time. Adding the time is the easy fix, making it so that it changes the time appropriatly for different time zones will be a bit more difficult.
Hope to make a start on this next week, after I've recovered episode two of the Half Witted Podcast.

Previews available!
23/10/2009I now have a preview option when submitting entries onto your pages. That was a lot more effort than I thought it would of needed... But I got there!
Also the post titles are now displayed when viewing the edit page for you blogs.

Edit: Slight glitch when editting and wanting to preview. I.e. it doesn't work... No idea why, trying to figure out why now.

16/10/2009I've made some slight edits to the way the CP looks when you're logged in. Mainly alignment issues so that it all looks tidier, and I've fixed a couple of typos.
I've also got the Password Recovery system working now aswell. So if you ever register, and forget it, you can now have a new one sent out to you by e-mail!

Updates!
26/06/2009I've done some updates! A lot is stuff behind the scenes that people won't notice. One thing you will notice though, is you no longer need to start your blogs with <p> tags now, and also <br /> is also added into the code for the entry when you make a new line. This makes things so much easier!
I've also done a couple of bits behind the scenes, that I won't bore you with, but I'm going to try and get this finished a bit more, now that I have a bit of motivation. I'm going to look into a Preview button, it's really annoying me that there isn't one, lol. I'll keep you posted!

Back in action
19/02/2008I've decided to start work on this again. I'll keep you guys psoted on what is going on as I do. I'll be working on getting the features listed on Larnu.co.uk, and I'll let you know as I get them done.

Bug Fix
15/03/2007Fixed the bug where when editting a comment, it sometimes gave the error stating the blog/comment didn't exist Hopefully I'll be fixing the confirmation e-nail bug later. Like before, use the Contact us form if you need your contact address changed for now.

Comments are completed!
14/03/2007Well, the title gives it away, I've completed the comments upgrade now. Yu can post a comment, by going go a user's blog, and then clicking the "Post a Comment" link under an entry. Owners of the entry can remove any comments on their blogs, and also, obviously, you can edit any you have aswell. So, hope you like it!
Also, I haven't managed to fix the validation e-mails yet, so if you do change your e-mail address, you still need to contact me via e-mail.

Progress so far
13/03/2007Well, you may be wondering how the updates are coming along, so I thought I'd let you know. I've been working on the comments update now for a day, and I've come up to a slight snag, with my SQl queries, which I hopefully will have fixed tomorrow afternoon. It's a simple feature really, it's just the fact that i'm having to have serveral queries within a query, and, it's making my script look really really ugly. As you can see though, I have updated the header so that when you're logged in, it changes. Just makes it a little more, friendly I suppose. I'll update this page when the comment upgrade is completed, although, you're probably notice that the Control Panel will change slightly when it's completed anyway, so that you can remove any comments people have made on your entries. Like i said, I'm hoping to have it ready for Thursday or Friday.

Upcoming updates
10/03/2007Well, I've started planning what I'm going to be doing soon with BlogIt Basic. The next version, will include commenting on existing blogs. This'll be quite a large update, so, will take a few hours for me to code most likely. Obviously the owner of the blog entries will be able to remove any comments made, but, they can also make somments to a blog of their own aswell. This means that you'll be able to reply to any comments made on a blog. Also, i'll be changing the header slightly, so that instead, once your logged in, the register link will become a Control Panel link, and the login will become a Logout link. This will help for when making comments, as you'll have to be logged in to make a comment.
Like i said before, I'll also be making selectable skins, but, I'm not planning that for quite awhile, as at the time, the skins are more hard coded into the pages. Aloso, as you may or may not have noticed, if you insert a new line in the textarea when making your blog, it doesn't actually insert a new line. I'm going to be editting it soon, so that in your options, you can chose whether your'll be coding your blog in html or not. If you are, then you'll have to insert such tags as:
Finally, I'll be adding a preview button when you are making or editting an entry, I've noticed it get's a little annoying that you can't view your blog before you post it, and with people like me, who make a lot of typos, it avoids you looking stupid. Well that's what coming up for you guys, the next update will be comments like I said, so, look out for those.

New Template
08/03/2007Well, as you can see, I've set up brand new template, curtesy of Arcsin. I'm planning on putting a few more themes on, and making it so you can select what theme your blog is viewed in, but, that'll be in version 2.0 or something. it'll be awhile yet, let's put it that way.
More updates probably coming later tonight. Also, I noticed the validation e-mails are working properly, registering is fine, however, it appears if your change your address, the validation e-mail doesn't work. If this happens, please contact me via the Contact Us page, and I'll manually validate your account. You can also contact me and request to have your contact address changed, however, you MUST e-mail me from your previous e-mail address to do this.

07/03/2007I've updated BlogIt basic to now include an optional Title for each entry. I've also updated the Blogs page, you can now see who's registered recently, aswell as recent entries, along with the titles of the blogs, if appropriate and when they were psoted. Have a look for yourself.
